Till date, 80% of all the weddings I have attended have not even seen the face of the bride and groom… didn’t even know their name.. Often, I had to go to weddings and come back, but even thought about it. Did not come and never even tried to see where the stage is decorated, where the couple is sitting… whether they are sitting or not, or whether the procession came or not…
In almost every marriage in India we invite 70% of unnecessary people…
Unnecessary people are those who have no interest in your marriage..they only come to the party…who know only your name..who know only your home location..who know only your prestige …
And those who come only once to taste the delicious and varied cuisines…
These are unnecessary people….
Marriage is not a story of Lord Satyanarayan that every one who comes and goes on the road should be stopped and given prasad.
No one is interested in your marriage except your relatives, some very close friends.
These taam jhams, pandal jhalers, hundreds of dishes, orchestra DJs, expensive items of dowry act as an infectious disease.. how..?
People come, look at it and think.. “I’ll do the same thing, but I’ll do better”… and people do… even if their skin is sold…
People spend their lifetime earning 70% of unnecessary people in showcasing their splendor.. even take loan…
And on the other hand, the extravagant people invited to the wedding, reach the food directly inside the guest house gate, stomach the food, grab the envelope and leave…
The glory of your lakhs falls in their eyes only for half an hour, but you pay their installments for life… shouldn’t we stop this extravagance and pretense..!
